Character Design

I love designing characters. I can never escape it.

All the characters depicted here are my OCs, unless indicated otherwise.

A digitally illustrated design reference sheet for my OC Eros (he/him). He looks like a feminine person and his face is hidden by a golden mask, the lower half of which looks like a wasp`s mandibles. He is wearing a golden chestplate over a black minidress fading to dark blue. He is also wearing golden armor plates up to his thighs, and his shoes are sabatons with stiletto heels. He has orange wasp wings attached mid-back. He has golden bands on his arms, and long golden nails. He is wearing a long white coat with a hood. On the sheet, you can see 4 different views of the character, one from the front, and 3 from the back that sho off the different layers of the design (coat, wings and body). Other details included: a full view of a single wing, the shoe shown from the profile, a close-up of the head (with the mask and the hood on) from the profile, the color palette, and a few notes stating that the coat attaches to the gorget, and the wings are at 70% opacity.

The ref sheet includes a front and back view of his design and a breakdown of the layers of clothes, as well as a close-up on his back to better show off where the clothes leave space for the wings.

He is wearing a helmet adorned with horns that look like stag beetle horns, and hides half his face. His armor is adorned with tiny neon green gems that are shaped like droplets. A motif is drawn on his helmet, a green dot and a half-circle over it, colored neon green as well. Big brown beetle wings are protruding from the back of his chestplate. Next to him are drawn his shield and sword. The shield in shaped like the elytras of a scarab beetle, also reddish brown and glossy like his armor, and covered in a neon green motif that is shaped like the motif on a fiddler beetle`s elytras. The sword is arched and has a jagged blade, it looks like a giant mandible or perhaps part of a beetle`s leg.
